Kyoshi Conan callow 6th dan
Conan originally trained in Goondwindi under Oshinden James Reid
He moved to Brisbane in 1980 as a Brown belt, however with starting a family and a business his previous regular training dropped away, although he continued to use the philosophy of martial arts in his approach to business and everyday life.
At age 35 he started back at the Red Hill Dojo achieving Black Belt within two years.
After a challenging health diagnosis his journey continued to 3rd Dan and teaching Rank of Sensei becoming head of the Barbarian Warriors Red Hill Clan.
He was awarded Bushido of the year in 2016 (one of the highest accolades of the style) after his 4th Dan weapons grading under Okaicho Marty Scrogings
He is now 6th Dan Black Belt with the teaching rank of Kyoshi and is dedicated to sharing the knowledge he has acquired over the years with every student that comes under his tutelage as they take the first steps on a journey that could restructure their whole life.
Dai sensei ross burns 3rd dan
Ross Started training in NZ in 1983 under the late Shihan Tony Renata. By the time he moved to Australia he was a Sandan-Ho (probationary 3rd Dan) with a teaching rank of Dai-Sempai.
Ross taught and ran a club in Paddington for several years before moving to NSW Northern Rivers.
After some time away he returned to Brisbane and started training and teaching again at the Red Hill Dojo.
Resuming training in turn re-ignited the desire to grow in depth of understanding and advance in rank and he finally took the full third Dan grading in 2022, obtaining full Sandan (3rd Dan) with the teaching rank of Sensei.
Every time you advance in rank there is an exponential growth in your ability and awareness, and a deepening in your commitment to go further, whether you are advancing from 'White' to 'Blue' or 'Dan' to 'Dan'
